Empowering Women Through Enterprise Since 1934

A national network of nonprofit Woman’s Exchanges dedicated to economic opportunity, craftsmanship, and community support.

A Network Rooted in Purpose

The Federation of Woman’s Exchanges is composed of volunteer, not-for-profit organizations whose common goal is to aid and assist deserving individuals who, as consignors and handcrafters, earn their living by their own industry, and to support charitable organizations within their communities.
The Federation exists to foster mutual support and cooperation among its members through communication and the free exchange of ideas so that each may achieve the highest level of volunteer service in pursuit of shared values.

Nearly a Century of Collaboration

The Woman’s Exchange movement began in 1832 in Philadelphia.
In 1934, six Exchanges formed a national Federation to promote cooperation, share best practices, and strengthen their collective impact.
Today, that spirit continues.
